Beautiful drawing! I’m thinking of giving L a portable grill for Father’s Day because it will be easy to take to the beach this summer. (That’s the sand, not the pavillion, Fred). Don’t let the secret out. Sue

    Renee,

Is inspired by the GA coast, or something more fantastic?

Church prayer meeting prayed for you in Louisville.

    Fred and Katie,
Thanks for managing the well wishes with the blog to optimize rest and recovery.

“More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings knowing that suffering produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5.

    Renee,
I pray that your suffering is short and suppressed by hope, faith, and medical care. I know that you have already been blessed with an abundance of grace and character. Here’s an excerpt from “The Wind Birds” written by a favorite author (Peter Matthiessen) to accompany your beautiful watercolor of a dune-scape:
“…whirring down across the water gleams and shining mud, they twist and flare in a semaphore flight which turns the flock from light to dark to light again. The bellies flash toward the sun and hold, for the birds are flying on their side. Now they pick up other flocks from the bars and margins, filling the air with arabesques of birds. The wind birds alight, raising both wings vertically as soon as their toes touch the ground, and while still running. Then they are off again, like a quick puff of gray smoke.”

Prayers and visions of flying shorebirds above shimmering waters for you and your family.

Marty and are thinking of you both, and of your family. We send positive thoughts and energies that you navigate well the troubled waters and emerge on the other side to sail smooth seas on a freshening breeze.
